Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death in women. Early detection is the best chance for survival and mammography remains a leading test for breast cancer diagnosis. In addition to using state of the art full field digital mammography, all of our offices also utilize computer assisted detection (CAD) software. All of our facilities are accredited by the American College of Radiology and the FDA.
A digital mammogram is a low dose radiation x-ray of the breasts that allows our radiologists to check for abnormalities. It is a quick procedure and the images are immediately uploaded onto our computer systems for review. Women over 40 and women with risk factors for breast cancer are often advised to have breast screenings on a periodic basis.
